【CD 日本初演】Gounod: 聖チェチリアミサ Iain Farrington版

I am delighted that Gounod’s Messe Solennelle will be performed in Osaka, Japan. It is one of the grandest pieces of choral music, full of great melodies, drama and? passion, almost like an
opera. The original work is for a large orchestra, so performances are quite rare. My arrangement retains the grandeur and timbre of the original, butre-worked for a
smaller ensemble. This allows the piece to be performed more frequently, in smaller venues, while allowing the singers to be heard more clearly. I am grateful and happy that it is being? performed by the chorale of Osaka Consort under the direction of Ken TOMIOKA in Japan for the first time, a country famous around the world for its outstanding musical tradition and cultural history. I hope that the piece is enjoyed by both the audience and the performers and I wish you all an enjoyable concert.
